Chess Club

The Chess Club runs every Wednesday afternoon at lunchtime in the Science Centre and is open to students of all ability levels. During Chess Club, we refine our skills and strategic game play for the interschool zonal tournaments throughout the year.

Lalor has attended regional competitions hosted by Penleigh and Essendon Grammar (PEGS), Alphington Grammar and St Oliver Plunkett Primary Schools.

Science Club

The Science Department facilitates a Science Club for junior students. The activities we run in Science Club are designed to engage students and nurture curiosity. Some of the activities include things like making sherbet or bath bombs, using motion sensors, using secret writing and working in the Science Centre vege garden. The club runs during lunch time on a Wednesday and can cater for up to 20 students per session.

Chem Club

The senior chemistry teachers facilitate an afterschool homework club for year 11 and 12 students studying chemistry. The club runs from 3 – 4pm in the Science Centre on Monday.

Inkheart Book Club

The Inkheart Book Club is a reading club that runs the first Tuesday of every month during lunchtimes to review their current reads, explore genres and allowing the time to catch up on some precious reading time. It has been great to see both staff and students attending the club, and to see our group flourish into established and engaged readers.
