Lalor High School Song 1963 – 1975
(To the tune of “There is a Tavern in the Town”)

Twelve miles from the city northward bound, northward bound
There stands a high school proud and sound, proud and sound.
We are the kids from Lalor High
Our motto is to try and try, try, and try.

And we have the best teacher.
And we have the best prefects.
And we have the best students in the whole wide world.

So up and up with Lalor High, Lalor High
Hold our banners to the sky, to the sky.
We are the kids from Lalor High
And honour will be ours, will be ours

Official Version

Twelve miles from the city northward bound, northward bound
There stands a high school straight and grand, straight, and grand.
Oh, the proudest high school in the land.
We call our high school Lalor High School, Lalor High School

Oh, we love you Lalor High School
And we know that you are my school.
And we’ll love you to the fateful day when we pass on.
For sooth for you have been our grace, saving grace.
Because of you we can hold our heads in place
We are the kids or Lalor High
Our Motto is to try and try, try, and try.
So up and up with Lalor High, Lalor High
We’ll hold the honour by and by, by and by
We’ll give our hearts to the spirit of the school.
And will never ever break a rule, break a rule.

Oh, we’ve defamed you and we’ve shamed you.
And at times we’ve even blamed you

We should bow our head and pray up to the skies above.
Time and time again you showed us what to do.
And of Course, we’ve all turned out true blue.
And from our school come the leaders of the land
So, our nation can be grand.
