Library Resource Centre

The Library Resource Centre occupies a central educational role in the development of classroom programs at Lalor Secondary College, catering for the many needs of our school community, including providing contemporary print and online information and recreational reading resources. It is also the location for the After School Homework (ASH) Club, on each Tuesday.

The Library has an extensive range of books and the following print collections including: Fiction, Non Fiction, Graphic Novels and Manga, True Stories/Biographies, Magazines, Reference and Teacher Reference books. Staff and students can also access ebooks and audiobooks from Wheelers Online.

The Library also subscribes to a range of online databases including World Book Online, ANZ News stream, and Echo Education. These are utilised by classes, as well as independent exploring for study students.

The Library Staff provide a welcoming and dynamic learning environment that encourages students along the path of independence, lifelong learning and exploring their imaginations, through reading and autonomous investigation.

The Library Resource Centre Manager collaborates regularly with the Literacy Team, Curriculum Leader, and Teachers to enrich the Library environment with modern texts and updated information about our ever changing world.
